The first Joomla! Day Nigeria held on December 21st, 2007 at University of Lagos Guest House Committee Room C. Half a dozen people were in attendance. This small group cut across developers, power users and potential users.

Two presentations were made by Adesemowo Oyebade, Deputy Group Head [Development] of Bincom.

The first presentation titled “Joomla What?” was a short overview of Joomla. (The PowerPoint Presentation is located here.) A fresh Joomla installation was performed on an apache server to demonstrate the "powers" of Joomla!

The second presentation was about Joomla 1.0.x templates. The structure of a typical J! template was explored. "madeyourweb" was ripped apart for demonstrations. A presentation made by in Joomla Day UK in 2006 was used as a guide.

Questions were asked at the end of both sessions. Vanguard Online Site raised some interest; components used in the deployment were discussed.

Light refreshment was also available. The next edition was announced for the 2nd quarter of 2008.
