Experienced Project Manager (October 2011) – Lagos, Nigeria

 

Job Purpose:

Manage and provide strategic (immediate, medium and long range) & operational direction for all programs under his/her portfolio.

Ensure that systems provided are in scope, fit-for-purpose, aligned with Client’s requirements, appropriately integrated, sized, supported and deliver the functional and performance required to achieve agreed goals

 

  • A key requirement is to gain a solid understanding of business strategies and maintain intelligence on Clients and application of technology to give then competitive advantage.
  • Stays abreast of economic/political trends in the Nigeria and around the world and build a relationship between happenings and advanced or emerging technologies to build suitable campaign/promo within scope of this function
  • Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for successful delivery of quality programs within the organisation, policy development and strategically overseeing program full life cycles.
  • PM will use his/her experience to drive a process of positive change, so that all these projects are delivered on time, to set quality standards and within agreed budgets.
  • PM will also be a key player in processing information regarding some ICT related projects all over Nigeria.

Job Roles

Some of the key roles include:

  • Assemble requirements for project implementation - software, logistics and workflow-related projects.
  • Identify the problem or opportunity and desired results of a project.
  • Key role also involves monitoring / visiting project sites all over Nigeria on a monthly basis
  • Sourcing new business leads and converting them to opportunities.
  • Initiate projects by gaining stakeholder buy-in and clearly defining sponsor expectations.
  • Write requirements documents containing all business, user, functional and non-functional requirements for projects.
  • Create basic project plans, proposals, project documentations and ensure proper activity sequencing and efficient deployment of resources.
  • Managing the project stakeholders, project team, assessing risks, project schedule, project budget, project conflicts and end to end success of key projects.
  • Update and archive all project information.
  • Meet and understand project needs. Clearly explain the roles, responsibilities and procedures of all participants. Effectively manage the project. Respond promptly to problems.
  • Make accurate project schedules and status reports available and timely. Consult with Project Sponsor on problem solving issues. Justify and manage schedule changes.
